Mostly warm and sunny today. I got to enjoy another swim and witness a few of the tiny worlds that exist on the beach, including this hermit crab in action.

Sandpipers are one of my favorite things about this beach. I didn’t realize until I uploaded this photo that a snail is photobombing in the background.
Water reflections in the sand below the surf.
This snail shell was home to an incredibly persistent hermit crab. Every time a waved pushed him away, he huddled into the shell, then popped back out and crab walked toward the water again.
The beach is still pretty busy for October, but at this moment, it was all mine.
